Building Futures Requirements

What is Building Futures?

•         A program presented with the cooperation of the  Building and Construction Trades Council of San Mateo

•         Presentations from local trade representatives

•         Field trips to local training sites

•         Referrals for additional academic skills development

Student Requirements - Participants must be:

•         Young men and women over eighteen years of age, residing in San Mateo County

•         Capable of passing the apprenticeship entry examinations

•         Ready to accept the challenges of a career in the building and construction trades.

What Can I Expect?

•         Academic preparation for apprenticeship entrance exams

•         Afternoon and evening presentations by local construction trade representatives

•         Scheduled field trips to local training facilities

•         Classroom time devoted to specific workplace skills, both hard and soft
